Integrity Scores

Integrity scores allow administrators to determine if employees are clocking in and out from authorized punch clock in real-time, or if supervisors are manually entering or correcting punches for their employees. Integrity scores also ensure supervisors are creating schedules on-time for employees, creating and posting shifts well enough in advance to give employees fair notice.

Punch Integrity

The Punch Integrity score helps track how often corrections or adjustments are made to an employee's punches.

If a Punch originates from a Punch Clock and has not been manually added or modified by a supervisor or an administrator, the Punch Integrity score will be 100%.

If an employee submits a punch correction, or the supervisor or administrator manually adds or modifies a Punch, the score for that particular Punch will drop to 0%.

A work shift's Punch Integrity score is a combined total of each punch's score.

For example, if an employee punches in from a punch clock at 9:00AM, and then punches out from a punch clock at 5:00PM, the Punch Integrity for the entire work shift would be 100%. ( both punches have 100% integrity ) If however, the supervisor logs into MinuteWorx to modify the Punch Out time to 4:45PM, the Punch Integrity for the entire work shift would drop to 50%, due to half of the work shift's punches being modified.

Having the Integrity Score available to Supervisors and Payroll Departments helps quickly identify non-compliance issues, and serves to offer incentives if 100% Integrity is achieved.

The Integrity Scores are included on time sheets as well as on Payroll reports you export. Punches with 0% Integrity are shown together with an Asterix * on Timesheets. A Punch Integrity Score from 0-100% is calculated each time an employee Punches in or out.

Although employees can only submit Punches from Punch Clocks, Supervisors and Administrators can log into MinuteWorx to change punch information on behalf of their employees. Note that it is possible to restrict Supervisors and Administrators from modifying or adding punches by setting read-only permissions in the employee's record.

Shift Integrity

A Shift Integrity Score from 0-100% is calculated for each scheduled Shift.

Administrators and Supervisors can create, delete or modify Shifts at anytime, however if the Shift is created or modified after it is scheduled to start, the Shift Integrity score drops.

When calculating the Shift Integrity score, the shift's advance notice is considered. If a Shift is scheduled more than 24 hours before it is scheduled to start, the Shift Integrity Score would be 100%.

Shifts scheduled on short notice, or after the fact have 0% Shift Integrity scores.

For example, if an employee punches in for an Unscheduled Shift on Monday from 9:00AM, and then punches out at 5:00PM, the Shift Integrity score would be 0%. ( no shift scheduled ) If the supervisor logs into MinuteWorx the next morning on Tuesday, and creates a new Shift for the previous day, Monday, the Shift Integrity for the entire Shift would drop to 0%, due to the shift being scheduled after the fact. If the shift had been created on Sunday, the day before it was scheduled to start, the Shift Integrity score would be 100%.

Geo Location Integrity

The Geo Location Integrity score helps track when employees clock in or out with their device's Geo Location Services disabled.

Punches submitted with a valid Geo Location have a Geo Location Integrity score of 100%.

Punches submitted with no Geo Location have a Geo Location Integrity score of 0%.

There are several reasons why a location may not successfully be obtained from a device. Some common causes include:

  • The mobile device's battery power is too low, requires charging, and no longer pings GPS satellites to obtain an accurate location.
  • The mobile device is moving at a higher speed ( eg. in a car traveling at 50mph ) and cannot obtain a fresh location.
  • The location is 'stale' or older than 15 minutes.
  • The user has declined sharing their location with MinuteWorx.

A work shift's Geo Integrity score is a combined total of each punch's score.

Trip Integrity

The Trip Integrity score helps track when employees log a trip's departure and arrival times in real-time vs when the departure and arrival times were entered manually. The departure and arrival times are reliable if recorded in real-time, since the timestamps used to log the trip originate from the MinuteWorx server, and not manually entered by the employee.

Trips started and stopped in real-time have a Trip Integrity score of 100%.

Trips manually entered after they have ended, or trips with manually entered departure and arrival times have a Trip Integrity score of 0%.
